Club Run - 21st January 2007

After the Club Dinner the previous night, surprisingly, there was a good turnout.  There didn't seem to be any bad hangovers and Rob, Mark B, Milly, Damien, Simon P, Guy, Dave and first-timer Paul met at Winnards Perch roundabout as the heavens opened and the first hail-storm hit.

We met Gordon in the Ladock Valley, climbed out of Truro towards Playing Place and stopped off for a coffee in the cafe at Bissoe to dry off a bit.  Then it was on to Chiverton Cross roundabout where we were caught by a hail-storm from hell!  Within five minutes the roads were completely white!  We took refuge where we could - in a bus shelter or under a tree!  All soaked again!

This ride was not for the faint-hearted and the wind, hail, rain and hills made us wish perhaps we had stayed home in bed!  At least with a tail wind back towards Newquay the going was relatively easy and we all made it back in one piece albeit wet through!

This ride proved, to quote Milly, "IT'S AN OUTDOOR SPORT FOR MEN!"
